The Municipal House, a national cultural landmark, is among the most significant Art Nouveau buildings in Prague. It was built between 1905 - 1912 and in the years 1994 - 1997 has undergone extensive renovations. It is located in the very centre of Prague, directly neighbouring the Powder Gate. The most significant Czech painters and sculptors of the time participated in the decoration of the Municipal House. That list included: Mikoláš Aleš, Max Švabinský, Josef Václav Myslbek, Alfons Mucha.

Art Nouveau Plzenska restaurant is situated in the basement of the Municipal house. If you prefer the genuine Czech tradition, you should not refuse an invitation for traditional Czech specialities and excellent Pilsner beer. In the evening you can listen to the typical Czech music upgraded by live entertainment of accordionist or Duo Svejk. Plzenska Restaurant was opened in 1912.



A special dancing performance "A Bouquet" with music composed by Bohuslav Martinů will be shown after the scientific programme.

If you decide to take this tour, our guide will acquaint you thoroughly with Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and with its thousand years old history and architecture. From the comfort of our air-conditioned bus we will show you first the New Town with the Wenceslas Square, the National Museum, the National Theatre, the panorama of Prague Castle and the Lesser Town as well as the Charles Bridge.

Then you will continue walking in the courtyards of the Prague Castle, become acquainted with its history and you will visit the inside of its biggest monument, Saint Vitus Cathedral. After visiting the grounds of Prague Castle, you will descend to the Lesser Town and the Kampa Island. The Charles Bridge, the architectural gem of Central Europe will lead you to the opposite bank of the Vltava River, from where you will continue on foot to the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter. The tour ends in the Old Town Square at the Astronomical Clock situated on the frontage of the Old Town Hall near the Týn Church.

Although this is a combined bus and walking tour, it is more physically demanding. We therefore recommend that you wear comfortable shoes and that you should be in good physical condition.

Jewish Quarter and Old Town

Join us for a visit of Prague Jewish Town, also called Josefov (after Emperor Joseph). Our tour starts with a walk through Old Town. We will pass the place where Franz Kafka grew up and enter the original Jewish quarter. Our guide will tell you about the history of the former Jewish ghetto and about the oldest synagogue in Central Europe, the Staronova (Old-New) Synagogue. You will visit the Old Jewish Cemetery as well as several synagogues that form part of the unique Jewish Museum complex. Český Krumlov – UNESCO

Karlštejn Castle

Kutná Hora – UNESCO

Kutná Hora, medieval centre of silver-mining, was the second richest town in the Czech Kingdom. The variety of Kutná Hora’s architectural monuments, along with its well preserved town centre reflects its historical fame and wealth. During your tour of Kutná Hora you will visit the gothic church of St. Barbara and the Italian Court, originally a Royal Mint. You will admire other beautiful gothic, renaissance and baroque burgher houses, as well as unique stone dwellings from the 15th century. You also will visit one of the most interesting burial places in the world, Kostnice (Bone church), in the nearby village of Sedlec. This chapel is decorated with more than 40,000 human bones in the shapes of a chandelier and the crest of the noble Schwarzenberg family. Kutná Hora is registered at UNESCO heritage list since 1995.

The tour also includes a visit to a medieval silver mine, where you will be equipped with a lamp, helmet and mining kirtle as you pass through a 250 m long medieval gallery as you learn about medieval mining technology, processing of raw silver and minting coins. The tour finishes with an exhibition of coins and silver mining tools from the era.
